Roedolf J Steenkamp founding partner and CEO and has more than 20 years’ experience in the commercial agriculture environment and is a fourth-generation farmer stemming from the Steenkamp family in Zululand, northern KwaZulu Natal in South Africa.

He has a strong hands-on background in farming livestock, cropping and subtropical fruits. His grandfather and father were pioneers in establishing Macadamia farming in Zululand and both his brothers’ farms continue with the operations.

He also spent four years in sales and marketing with South African Breweries before moving to Epic Foods, a division of Premier Foods as Export Manager.

He holds a B. Com degree (University of Pretoria – Financial Management and Agriculture Economics) with further studies in Business Development at the University of Pretoria – Business School.

Roedolf spend 15 years at Astral Foods where he started as the General Manager of the Zambian Feed and Poultry Operations, he also held the positions of Chief Operating Officer – African Operations, Managing Director Astral Foods Feed Division and Managing Director Astral Foods African Operations responsible for the feed and poultry operations outside the borders of South Africa. His last assignment, before the establishment of AGRI VENTURES AFRICA, was as the CEO of KELFOODS to restructure and expand the business which required an external funding partner of KELFOODS in Malawi.

KELFOODS is an integrated regional poultry operation and has become one of the largest table egg producers in Sub Sahara Africa outside of South Africa under his leadership.

Roedolf has served on several Boards of Agri businesses in South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Mauritius and Ethiopia. He also served on the Astral Operations Board and the Animal Feed Manufacturers Association in South Africa.
